We talk about a lot of factors when reviewing laptops, such as processor speed, weight, and wireless capabilities, but invariably, the single most important number readers ask about is battery life. We don't blame consumers for being obsessed with it--after all, who wants their laptop to shut down in the middle of a long flight or at an important meeting?

The EliteBook 8460p will start at $999 and be available in mid-March, while the ThinkPad T420 starts at just $779 and will also be available sometime in March. Neither price will scare off corporate purchasing agents. You have been warned.
1) the reason the batteries on the new Apple laptops are not removable is not because they reportedly should last for several years with full power (no relation whatsoever, most traditional laptop batteries last for several years with full power as well if correctly used), but reportedly because they can reportedly hold more energy as a result of the removal of ?unnecessary? latches and doors and
2) if you really believe "traditional laptop batteries" "often have to be replaced after 12 months or so" then I'm afraid you're yet another naive Mac user with serious misconceptions about PCs, because traditional laptop batteries seldom have to be replaced after 12 months or so (as a matter of fact, I don't know anyone who has ever had to replace their "traditional battery" ever and I know several people whose "traditional batteries" have aprox. 10 years and are still working fine).
